She gave me an enthusiastic YES! Turns out she had a martini made with simple syrup, red wine, lemon juice and whiskey in Milwaukee years ago and loved it. What she was describing is known as a New York Sour. It has just a splash of red wine at the top, but that wasn’t enough for me. The result was my own spin and this amazing Whiskey and Wine Cocktail. It sounds like a super random mixture, but it is absolutely delicious. This is genuinely one of my favorite cocktails. To make a lemon twist:

Cut a slice off of a lemon.Cut a slit in the slice. Carefully open from the slit and then pull out the pulp, leaving the peel and a small amount of the rind.Twist the rind into a curl and place on the edge of the glass.
