I love summer fruit. Strawberries and watermelons have always been on the top my fav fruit list, and I impatiently wait every year for the summer to begin just to be able to enjoy these 2 fruits! Thinking about all the delicious recipes that I can make with watermelons and strawberries since it’s just the beginning of the season here. I thought I’d start with something simple but healthy and really tasty, a strawberry watermelon smoothie! Strawberries and watermelons can be really sweet. Especially watermelon, it has a relatively high sugar content which gives it its sweet taste. To balance the flavors in this smoothie, I add a little bit of orange as it brings a lovely tang to the smoothie. No hidden calories, no sugar added, just the good stuff! The best way to start a day is with a hearty breakfast. To me, breakfast is either oatmeal, granola or buckwheat porridge and a smoothie packed with seasonal fruit. Oh, and nut butters! I love nut butters and add them to my porridge, granola and sometimes smoothies. However, a smoothie is always on the menu. To make a smoothie more filling you can add coconut yogurt or oats.
