How to Serve
Top your milkshake with whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate shavings, or a cherry for a classic look. Serve with a straw or spoon (or both) for eating. Milkshakes are best enjoyed immediately after making. If you need to store one, keep it in the freezer and re-blend before serving to restore the creamy texture. I could go on and on, really. These milkshakes are only two ingredients and there are so many different directions you can take them. You will adore this simple but delicious recipe.
Ice cream: Use high-quality ice cream for the best flavor. Vanilla is a classic choice, but feel free to experiment with different flavors like chocolate, strawberry, or even cookies and cream. Milk: Whatever milk you have on hand will work to make a milkshake. Whole milk adds richness and creaminess to your milkshake. You can also use half-and-half or heavy cream for an even richer shake.
Combine ingredients. Add ice cream and milk to a blender. Blend until smooth. If the shake is too thick, add a splash more of milk. If it is too thin, add a bit more ice cream. Serve and enjoy! Pour into cups and enjoy right away.
1/2 cup diced strawberries 2 cups vanilla ice cream 1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons fudge sauce 2 cups chocolate ice cream 1/2 cup milk
A few drops of almond, mint, or vanilla extract can enhance the flavor of your milkshake. Hot fudge, caramel sauce, peanut butter, or fruit syrups for added flavor. Crushed cookies, Oreos, candy bars, chocolate chips, or brownie bits make delicious mix-ins for extra texture and flavor. Add in some frozen fruit. Peaches, pineapple, mango, and blueberries will add some great flavor.
