This is a wonderful traditional Middle Eastern stew that my Mom has cooked ever since I was a child. French beans aka green beans or string beans are cooked in a rich tomato sauce, along with meat that can be either beef or lamb. This dish is a staple in Middle Eastern cuisine in the levant countries including Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. It can be made over the stovetop in a dutch oven, or in a slow cooker. Traditionally this dish is cooked over the stovetop, where the meat is simmered until soft. However, the slow cooker version (that is not very common) can make your meat even more tender. Now, this dish does require a little bit of prep but it’s worth it, I promise! And if don’t with to make it with meat, you can make this a vegetarian dish. It’s delicious I make it all the time! Serve it with plain rice, or with Lebanese rice, and enjoy! I hope that you love this recipe as much as I do, and don’t forget to check out more of my Middle Eastern Recipes. © Little Sunny Kitchen
