Read on, because I’m going to breakdown how much it cost me to make this dish for two. Up in the ranks with chocolate, seafood is possibly the most popular meal to eat on Valentine’s Day. Why? Because oysters are considered the number one seafood aphrodisiac, but not everyone likes oyster and shrimp coming in a close second.
Valentine’s Day is approaching and it is so costly to eat out. Anyone can order from a menu, but what about impressing your date and cooking for them? It doesn’t have to be expensive and they will appreciate it so much more
The cost breakdown of this meal for two
This is how the recipe breaks down by cost. Linguine: $1.25 for a 1 pound package, 2 servings = 74¢ Olive oil: $5.49 for 16 fl oz the cost for 2 tablespoons = 34¢ Shrimp: $8.99lb, the cost for 12 shrimp = $4.49 White wine: $8.49, 1/3 cup = 34¢ (drink the rest with the meal) Cherry tomatoes: $1.50 for 1 pound, ¾ pound = $1.12 Dill: $1.50 for 1 ounce, ¼ ounce = 37¢ Lemon: = 59¢ Total grocery cost = $27.81 (your totals will vary depending on each individual cost Total per 2 servings = $7.99 *Salt and pepper I have not factored in because everyone has this as a pantry staple. If you have olive oil, then that’s a cost savings too.
$27.81 is not a lot of money for dinner for two, including wine. Plus, you don’t have to tip like you would if you were at a restaurant.
