Snacking is one of my favorite activities. There is something so relaxing about snuggling up at night and watching a show we can all laugh at together, with some great snacks. This ranch dip is the perfect option. It can be made lighter and when served with some cut-up veggies, you will find that it is a nutritious and filling snack.
Homemade Ranch Seasoning
We essentially make a homemade ranch seasoning to flavor this dip. Similar to the packet of ranch seasoning you could buy at the store, we use simple herbs and spices you probably have in your pantry to make the flavor exactly perfect and skip any extra preservatives or additives.
Mix together the sour cream and mayonnaise. Add in all the other ingredients. Mix until well combined. Taste the dip and add more salt or pepper to taste. Serve with fresh vegetables. Sliced cucumber, carrot sticks, sliced bell peppers, celery sticks, and cherry tomatoes are all delicious with this dip. Be sure to wash the veggies before serving.
Making Ranch Dip Lighter
You can make this dip lighter by replacing the mayonnaise and sour cream with low-fat versions. Both low-fat mayo and sour cream are made with lower-fat milk, there is nothing weird added to them to make them low-fat. Though, I do not recommend using fat-free of either.
Storing Ranch Dip
Keep this dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Always use your best discretion when storing and eating leftovers.
