Let’s talk about my family’s favorite thing to make on the grill: Pizza! We have pizza off the grill once a week during the summer. We use our favorite pizza crust recipe and it comes together in about 20 minutes, which is faster than delivery people. HOW TO MAKE A PIZZA ON THE GRILL
- Start out by heating the grill to about 400, with all four of your burners on high. (The thermometer on this grill is so easy to read!)
- Roll out your pizza dough and put it on a pizza stone. We really like this one. Add your sauce, cheese, and toppings.
- Put the pizza on one far side of the grill, turn the burners under the stone to low, and leave the other two on high. Shut the grill and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes.
- After cooking for about 5 to 7 minutes, rotate the pizza 180 degrees, shut the grill again and cook for another 3 to 7 minutes.
- Check on the pizza. Lift up the edge of the pizza to make sure the crust is golden underneath. If not, cook for another 3 to 5 minutes checking on the pizza regularly. If the top is done, but the bottom isn’t, remove the pizza from the grill and keep it on the pizza stone for another 10 minutes to finish cooking the crust away from the heat. CAUTION: When you remove the pizza stone from the grill it will be HOT. Make sure you use really thick oven mitts or have a hot pad on your table outside so you can quickly set it down. Pretty much every time we make this Nathan is running into the kitchen to set it down on top of our stove while his hands get super hot.
