After cooking the squash, its really really easy and a breeze to cut them in to halves, scoop out all the seeds and peel the tough skin. We love to make Butternut squash Soup, Butternut squash Pasta, Maple Butternut Puree and this method is going to make things a lot easier for recipes that requires a mash or a puree. If you like to have slightly firmer consistency with your cooked butternut squash, simply cook a little lesser than the guide time and do not wait for the complete natural release of the steam. With Instant Pot around, everything is possible and it is totally in our control to decide on the consistency.

I call Pressure Cooker method really easy and quick, because all you need to do, is to place the whole butternut squash in the Instant Pot and pressure cook. Allow the pressure to release naturally! Only if your squash is too large, you will need to cut them into quarters and scoop the seeds out. Well there is no recipe as such for Instant Pot Butternut squash, but there is a guide time for cooking the squash.
GUIDE TIME FOR COOKING BUTTERNUT SQUASH
WHOLE BUTTERNUT SQUASH - HIGH PRESSURE AT 20 - 25 MINUTES + NPR 20-25 minutes is a guide time for cooking depending on what texture you could like to achieve. For making a recipe for butternut puree - cook for 25 minutes and NPR. I have gone ahead and cooked my butternut squash until they are soft, because we were looking forward to using them for pasta and soup. For making cubes of butternut squash from a whole squash - cook for 20 minutes & NPR at 10 minutes. QUARTERED BUTTERNUT SQUASH - HIGH PRESSURE AT 8-10 MINUTES + 5 MINUTES NPR When your whole butternut squash is large enough to fit inside the instant pot, quarter them into pieces. Cook the Butternut Squash between 8-10 minutes & NPR at 5 minutes. 8- 10 minutes is a rough estimation depending upon how big or small you have quartered the squash. Now you are all set to add them to any recipe that calls for cooked butternut squash.
HOW TO STORE THE BUTTERNUT SQUASH PUREE?
Store the Butternut Puree in an airtight container. It stays fresh for about 3-4 days in the refrigerator, if you would like to use it fresh.
CAN YOU FREEZE THE BUTTERNUT PUREE?
You can certainly freeze the butternut puree. Once the Puree is ready, place them in zip lock bags { labelled } and you are all set to have butternut puree supply all year long. I have stored my pumpkin puree for 9 months earlier.
