The Best Party Dip Recipe
Just 6 Ingredients – It’s amazing what can happen when you combine a can of refried beans with a few grocery staples. This dip comes together so easily and quickly without the need for a special trip to the store. Everyone Loves This Dip – I like to make this for football parties or holidays. I put it out at the beginning of the night and it’s always gone in less than an hour. Customize the Toppings – This dip is perfectly delicious without any extra toppings, but I love adding fresh veggies and flavors after it comes out of the oven. Ingredients In Cream Cheese Bean Dip
Here’s what you need to make this simple party dip:
Refried Beans: Any type of canned refried beans will work in this recipe, so use whatever brand you prefer. Cream Cheese and Sour Cream: Using both of these creamy ingredients gives this dip the perfect consistency. It’s thick and rich, but not so thick that your chips will break trying to eat it! Taco Seasoning: You’ll need about two tablespoons of seasoning to make this recipe. Packaged taco seasoning works fine, or you can try making homemade taco seasoning instead. Hot Sauce: This is optional. If you’d like your bean dip to be on the mild side, leave the hot sauce out. You can always add more to the top of the tip after it’s baked if you need to. Shredded Cheese: Use something that will get nice and melty! Shredded Mexican cheese blend is always a safe bet for taco dip and bean dip. You can also shred Colby Jack or mild cheddar cheese.

How To Make Hot Bean Dip
Recipe Tips
Soften the cream cheese first. You’ll have a tough time mixing the ingredients into a smooth mixture if the cream cheese is cold. You can mix it by hand with a spoon or sturdy spatula, or use a mixer to make things a bit easier. Add the toppings just before serving. I like to let the dip cool for a few minutes before adding fresh ingredients like avocado or tomatoes. Otherwise they can get too warm and soft.
Bean and Cheese Dip Toppings
Go big when it comes to adding toppings to your cream cheese bean dip! Anything that you’d put on Nachos will work here. Try:
Guacamole or diced avocado Fresh Pico De Gallo Salsa Sour Cream Cilantro or green onions Jalapenos
Storing Tips
There’s rarely any leftovers when I serve this, but if you have some, be sure to keep them stored in the fridge. Enjoy within a day or two. The best way to reheat cream cheese bean dip is to microwave for a minute or two, stirring halfway through. If needed, add a bit more cheese to the top before serving.

Can I double the recipe?
You absolutely can! I’d suggest making it in two separate pans, but you can also double the recipe and bake it in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Can I add meat?
If you’d like this dip to be a bit heartier and filling, consider stirring in cooked ground beef, chorizo sausage, or shredded chicken.
Is cream cheese bean dip spicy?
You can control how spicy this dip is (or isn’t) by the ingredients that you choose. For a mild dip, be sure to use mild or plain refried beans, mild taco seasoning, and skip the hot sauce. If you want to go spicier, just add more spice!
Can I use low-fat cream cheese?
I don’t usually recommend using low-fat dairy products for recipes like this one, as the flavor and texture just aren’t the same. That said, lower-fat cream cheese will work if you’d like to use it.
