You guys the holidays, and holiday parties, are right around the corner. This makes me excited for so many reasons, but one of the biggest is the FOOD. No big surprise there! One of my favorite things about food is the joyous way that it brings people together on different occasions. It’s amazing how a simple meal can create love and harmony and happiness. It is almost as though food is magical. Speaking of magical, this punch! It has such a crisp refreshing flavor that family and friends of all ages will enjoy.
Alcoholic Holiday Punch
If you are looking for a Christmas punch with alcohol, you might want to try this Easy Christmas Punch Recipe which basically swaps the orange juice of this holiday punch for vodka. If you want to serve both kids and adults, I would make my nonalcoholic holiday punch recipe and put some vodka, rum, and champagne on the side, so adults can doctor up their punch however they like.
Orange Juice: I recommend freshly squeezed orange juice or store-bought juice without pulp for a smoother punch. Pomegranate Juice: This deep, rich juice adds a beautiful color and a slightly tart flavor to your punch. Find it in your produce section at your local grocery store. Cranberry juice cocktail: To avoid overpowering tartness, I recommend using a cranberry juice cocktail instead of 100% cranberry juice. The cocktail version combines cranberry juice with other fruit juices for a sweeter, more balanced flavor that complements the other punch ingredients. Lemon lime soda: Adding a splash of lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7Up gives the punch a fizzy, refreshing twist. Pineapple juice: Adds a bright, refreshing element to the punch. Ginger ale: Adds a gentle spiciness to the punch, balancing out the sweetness with a warm, zesty layer. It’s the perfect addition to give your punch a bit of a kick, while also keeping it light and bubbly.
Combine all ingredients. In a large punch bowl, add your chilled ingredients and stir to combine. Garnish and enjoy! Add fresh or frozen cranberries, fresh orange slices, and pomegranate seeds for garnish if desired.
To keep the punch cold without diluting it with ice, you could make an ice ring. Simply pour some extra pineapple and cranberry juice into a bundt pan (just fill it a few inches). Add some fruit to that and put it in the freezer for a few hours or until completely frozen. Pop the frozen ice ring into the punch bowl at party time to keep the punch cold without needing ice. It is perfect for a big party or family gathering. I did my best to choose ingredient amounts that matched up to the container. For example, the lemon lime soda is just one two liter bottle. You need a little less ginger ale than that; pull out about two cups. And the pineapple juice is one large can. If you would like to make this for a smaller group, this is an easy recipe to cut in half.
