EASY WITCH FINGER RECIPE
On the Halloween day, We love going Trick or Treat with the kids. All the spooky decorations on the street, scary costumes reminds me of the movie Hotel Transylvania! We also catch up with friends with these edible spooky treats in our annual Halloween party. Now that we have watched this movie umpteen number of times, creating ghoulish treats for Halloween party has been on my little ones bucket list of activities. We try and create fun spooky things for a weekend snack too! This Witch Finger is just so real and scary, but too good to miss. I love to use Pretzels or Breadsticks for the fingers - depending upon what is available locally. When I made these bread sticks witch fingers for the blog, my little one was so cross that I did not wait for her to return from school. It’s so much fun 🙂 Kids can make them unsupervised too!
Let’s get making an easy peasy creepy Halloween treat.
You will need only 3 Ingredients for this creepy witch fingers. If you would like to get fancy, may be 4. Extremely easy recipe that actually requires no measurements, no weighing - Just have fun! Mini Bread Sticks or Pretzels Rods - Breads sticks are an easy find and they are available in almost all the grocery stores. Pretzel Rods will be good in this recipe too, but they are tricky to find in UK locally. Almonds - are perfect to use as fingers. To blanch, place the almonds in a bowl of water and microwave for a minute. Allow the almond to cool down slightly and peel it. Now slice the almonds to half- they look more real as nails, rather than whole almonds. Black Gel for the nails ( optional ) gives the perfect spooky witch finger look. But these are optional. Tooth pick to make lines on your knuckles. Do not miss this step as these lines make the fingers look so real and natural.
HOW TO MAKE WITCH FINGERS BREAD STICKS / PRETZEL RODS
Melt the candy melts as per packet instructions. I like to microwave the candy melts in increment of 20 seconds, stirring in between - until I have a flowing candy melt. Now quickly dip each bread stick, shake of the excess and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Repeat the process with the remaining bread sticks or pretzel rods. In the mean while, spread the black icing gel on the witch nails and allow it to set. ( optional ) If you are not keen on the black nails, dip the back of almond nails in the green candy melt and place it on the top of the finger. Allow the fingers to set. Make lines on the finger with tooth pick, when they are semi set. Tadaa… you have creep Witch finger breadsticks ready in less than 15 minutes.
