About these really easy Homemade Gulab Jamun truffles recipe

These Indian truffles are the most delicious bite-sized fusion dessert, I can tell you. And the best bit is that the recipe is fairly super simple if you are using store-bought juicy gulab jamuns. You will need only 2 ingredients plus garnishes to make white chocolate gulab jamuns. All you need to do is to melt the white chocolate using a double boiler method or in the microwave. Then working fast, dip one gulab jamun at a time and place it on parchment paper. Quickly garnish with nuts and edible rose petals and give them a posh look. If you have silver vark (edible silver leaf), you can add them too with a tweezer.

Variations

Use Dark Chocolate or Milk chocolate instead of White. White Chocolate - Buy White cooking chocolate or white chocolate chips or melting wafers for this recipe. Garnishes - I like to use coarsely chopped mixed nuts and edible rose petals. They add a festive touch to the dessert. In the meanwhile, melt the white chocolate with a double boiler method. Heat water in a saucepan. Place another bowl on top of the saucepan without touching the water. Add the chocolate to the bowl and stir. Continue to stir until the chocolate melts and is smooth. Remove the bowl and set it aside for the next step. Now remove the gulab jamun from the freezer. Pick one gulab jamun and drop it in the white chocolate. Using two forks, lift the gulab jamun to drain any excess chocolate. Transfer to a tray lined with baking paper. Garnish with nuts and edible rose petals. Repeat the process with the remaining 5 gulab jamuns. Transfer the prepared truffles to the fridge and allow them to set well. Roll the truffles in a nut mix for a fancier look. If you enjoy a nut-free sweet, omit the nuts from the garnishes. Love truffles, you will also love cake crumble truffles and chocolate truffles.

Tips

When handling the chocolate - always chop them to a similar size. This is necessary so that they melt evenly. Always work quickly, when using the chocolate. They can thicken quickly. If the gulab jamuns have been at room temperature, place them in the freezer for 15 minutes for a quick chill. However, if they have been in the fridge already, you can leave this step out.
