There’s a reason why we drink lemonade on hot days, it is very refreshing and this lemonade is also good for you. In addition to being sugar-free, you get Vitamin C from the fresh lemons and cranberry juice, ginger is great for digestion and the mint has antioxidants. This has been a long-time favorite summer drink of mine that I first posted in 2014. This is the same delicious recipe with updates pictures and a step-by-step video.

Speaking of the cranberry juice, to keep it sugar free, look for the cranberry juice that is fruit juice sweetened and does not have sugar. A fun, visual aspect to the cranberry addition is that it turns it into pink lemonade. A very kid-friendly drink, I have included an option to make this lemonade grown-up. Just add vodka, gin or light rum. Be warned, it goes down very easily and you wouldn’t even know it’s spiked.

I use honey in this drink over sugar for two reasons. Honey is better for you and it also dissolves better than white sugar. The lemonade starts heating the lemon juice in a pan with the mint and ginger. It may seem strange, but this is a necessary step to infuse the flavor of the mint and ginger, it’s just like making tea.
