Why You’ll Love This Recipe
It Costs Less. Making your own spice mixes will always be less expensive than buying them at the store. Buy your spices in the bulk section of your store if you can to save even more money, and avoid buying pre-mixed store bought seasonings. You Can Adjust it. Want more salt in your blend? Ok! Less onion? That’s fine too. You can control the amounts of everything to make your everything bagel seasoning perfect for you.
Ingredients in Everything Bagel Seasoning
Poppy Seeds: These little guys pop in your mouth and give this seasoning lots of color and contrast. Sesame Seeds: To match TJ’s bagel seasoning, you want to use both white and black sesame seeds. The flavors of the two are slightly different, but if you can only find one or the other, that’s ok. Dried Minced Garlic: You want coarse dried garlic or garlic flakes, rather than garlic powder or granules. Dried Minced Onion: The same goes here. Make sure you buy full pieces of dried onion, not a powder.Sea Salt Flakes: Again, the type of salt you use for this is important. You want flaked sea salt, not granulated or kosher salt (this is the salt that I use). The flakes melt into the food or in your mouth – so yummy!
