Best Homemade Pancake Recipe
Everyone needs a good basic pancake recipe because pancakes are so easy to make, and what’s breakfast without fluffy pancakes? Pancake mixes are great, and I buy them from time to time. But honestly, pancakes are SO easy to make from scratch and in this recipe, I will show you how to make the BEST pancakes ever!
The Ingredients
To make homemade pancakes, you will need:
Flour – all-purpose flour works best here. Baking powder – the secret behind super fluffy pancakes! Granulated sugar – my recipe uses just 2 tablespoons of sugar, so they’re not too sweet or anything. Sweeten your pancakes with toppings and syrup rather than sugar! Milk and egg – use whole milk that is slightly warm but not hot. Butter – unsalted melted butter. Melt butter in the microwave in 20 seconds, 10-second intervals. Salt, and pure vanilla extract.
How to Make Pancakes
Storing and Freezing
If you have leftovers, store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Pancakes also freeze very well, to freeze lay them between pieces of parchment paper, and freeze in a ziploc bag for up to 3 months. To reheat, just pop them in the microwave until they’re warmed up.
Topping Ideas
Fresh fruit such as berries, sliced banana, sliced peach. Maple syrup or pancake syrup. Chocolate or caramel syrup. Homemade strawberry sauce. Butter. Whipped cream. Peanut butter or almond butter. Homemade nutella.
