NO YEAST GARLIC NAAN BREAD RECIPE
It’s time you start making your Naan bread at home and trust me, you will never ever run to a store to buy them BECAUSE you don’t need Yeast too! I love making Easy Homemade Naan bread on weekends for special meals and serving with Indian curries. However, on days I haven’t made naan bread dough in advance, this garlic naan bread without yeast works like charm. It is so easy to make and you need a basic handful of bread ingredients, easily available in UK supermarkets & no yeast!

WHAT IS NAAN BREAD?
Naan is a leavened, oven-baked Indian flatbread, traditionally baked inside a very hot clay tandoor oven. Naan is stuck in tandoor and baked at very high heat. Such Tandoor Ovens are often found in restaurants. However, we can always make easy fail-proof no yeast garlic naan bread at home on a skillet, with the recipe below. You are sure to love how easily this flatbread recipe can be made without eggs and without yeast too!
INGREDIENTS
You’ll need a handful of ingredients to make this No Yeast Garlic Naan bread, all of which are easily available in the supermarket. Flour – Plain Flour / All Purpose Flour is typically used to make naan bread. But you may also substitute with whole wheat flour for wholesome Naan bread. Natural full-fat Yogurt is what I use in this recipe. Garlic is an essential aromatic in this garlic coriander naan recipe. For Naan bread recipes without garlic, simply leave them out. Butter renders richness to the Naan and I love them in it. Other essential ingredients include Salt, Sugar, Baking Soda, Baking Powder Coriander Leaves – is optional. HOW DO YOU MAKE EASY GARLIC NAAN BREAD at home?
It is easy to make Garlic Naan Bread with a three-step process.
Step 1 - Garlic Butter
Melt the 2 tablespoon of Butter on low flame and add finely chopped garlic. Allow it to simmer for 2 minutes. Turn off the flame and set it aside. In a large mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar & salt, and give it a good mix. In another bowl, prepare a wet mix by mixing yogurt, garlic, 2Tbsp melted butter, and stir.
Step 2 - Knead the Naan dough
Add the ingredients to a bowl in a stand mixer and knead until you have a soft dough. Cover and rest for 1 hour! Alternatively, knead by hand till you have a soft pliable dough.
Step 3 - Make the Garlic naan bread on a skillet
Gently roll the dough into a circle/ oval – any shape as desired to at least 0.5 cm thickness evenly. Brush the top of the nan with water. Remember to place the wet side on the hot skillet. Cover with a lid and cook for 1 ½ minutes { 90 sec approximately }. You should start seeing bubbles on the top. Flip the flatbread with a turner and allow it to cook for another 30 seconds. Remove from flame and brush the garlic naan with melted garlic butter. Sprinkle some coriander leaves and sesame seeds ( optional ) Store the fresh homemade Naan in a casserole dish or keep them wrapped in a warm towel.

It is a misconception that making butter Naan is really hard and it’s best enjoyed at a restaurant but trust me, it’s actually the other way around. Making restaurant-style Garlic Naan bread at home is actually quite easy and you don’t need a tandoor either.
