I first had a version of this dip at a friend’s house. I was completely amazed at how this hot bubbly dip tasted just like the best cheeseburgers I’ve had at restaurants. I took her recipe and tweaked it to suit my own tastes, adding some extra savory seasonings and toppings to make it perfect.  This hamburger dip with cheese is very simple to make and can be ready to go in less than 30 minutes. It’s great as a last-minute sharable appetizer because it uses ingredients that are easy to find and might already be in your kitchen. So what are you waiting for? Why You’ll Love This Cheeseburger Dip

Key Ingredients

Complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

Bacon: You can’t make a bacon cheeseburger dip without lots of bacon! Make sure you cook your bacon until it’s crispy so that it stays that way in the cheesy dip.  Ground Beef: Choose lean ground beef for this recipe. You need just ¾ of a pound to make a whole pan of cheeseburger dip.  Onion and Garlic: These aromatic vegetables add a ton of flavor to the meat.  Cream Cheese: The base of any good cheesy and creamy dip is cream cheese. I don’t suggest using low-fat cheese in this recipe. Allow the cream cheese to soften before trying to mix everything together.  Sour Cream: Sour cream mixed with cream cheese gives the perfect dippable consistency to this creamy hamburger dip. I also made this with mayonnaise before, and it was delicious. Shredded Cheese: A combination of Sharp Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses is perfect here. If you want to use Velveeta cheese, you can! It’s also delicious. Worcestershire Sauce, Salt, and Pepper: Basic and classic burger seasonings. Worcestershire is an important ingredient that really makes this dip taste like a grilled burger.  You can also add garlic powder if you like. Garnish with chopped parsley and yummy chopped dill pickles.

How to Make Bacon Cheeseburger Dip

Tips for Making Cheeseburger Dip Recipe

When Buying Meat: Look for lean ground beef so you don’t need to drain away so much grease. You can also make this dip with ground turkey or chicken to make it a bit lighter. Use Different Cheese: This recipe is versatile because you can swap out the shredded cheddar and jack cheeses if you like. Try using American cheese (Velveeta would be my choice) or Swiss in the mix.  Extra Toppings: Make this a loaded cheeseburger dip by adding more garnishes. Try shredded iceberg lettuce, diced tomato, green chiles, diced red onion, more veggies, and a drizzle of a creamy sauce like this Raising Cane’s Sauce or Ranch Dressing. You can even drizzle the dip with ketchup and mustard if you like. Use Good Chips: This Cheeseburger Dip is delicious with potato chips, but make sure you get sturdy ones so they don’t break up too much. I like to use kettle-cooked potato chips or a thicker name-brand ruffled chip. Tortilla chips or pita chips will work too. For a lighter option, serve with carrot and celery sticks or crackers. Keep it Hot: This dip won’t be as delicious or dippable if it gets cold. Serve it right from the oven, or use a warming tray to keep it hot for your guests. You can also re-warm it in the microwave to get it back to the perfect temperature.

What to Serve With Cheeseburger Dip

Delicious Dippers: I’ve mentioned serving cheeseburger dip with chips, but you can get creative too! Try fresh veggie sticks, crusty bread, or even homemade Naan bread.  Serve with Potatoes: While chips are completely perfect with this tip, think a bit outside the box and serve your Cheeseburger dip with Tater Tots, French Fries, or even as a topping for Baked Potatoes. Doing this will make your cheeseburger dip into more of a meal than an appetizer! For Game Day: Lots of hearty yummy appetizers are the perfect plan for a football party. Try making this with Ham and Cheese Sliders, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and Slow Cooker Turkey Chili. Cheeseburger Sliders are another delicious way to add all the amazing flavors of a cheeseburger to your next party too! I can’t wait until you try this easy and delicious cheeseburger dip! Make it for the game this weekend or save the recipe for the next time you need to bring an appetizer to share! © Little Sunny Kitchen
