Most of us are looking for a dietary reset after the holidays and there’s no better way that to start your day than a glass full of nutrients that are good for you and taste good! I used oat milk for this smoothie because I’ve been on a kick lately making my own easy oat milk. You can also use almond milk, soy, coconut, rice or regular milk, the choice is yours. I want to talk a little more about matcha powder. It is green tea made into a fine powder that can be enjoyed in lattes or on its own in water. Some are more bitter than others, so you will need to find which one works for you. I am not much of a coffee drinker as I find the caffeine jolt is too much and I hate the crash that follows. Matcha does not give you this, it’s more of a calm alertness because your body processes the powder different to coffee. There are also health benefits to matcha. It’s full of antioxidants, helps boost your metabolism and is rich in fiber and vitamins. What’s not to love? There are many things you can add to this smoothie like collagen powder, protein powder, cinnamon for extra flavor. This is what I love about smoothies, the possibilities are endless. I don’t add ice to my smoothies because I always use frozen fruit. If you are using fresh fruit, I would add a handful of ice to make it cold. Frozen strawberries, blueberries, peaches and mango are all delicious options. Optional additions: protein or collagen powder, cinnamon, banana can be frozen
