We all can agree, ketchup is good for just about anything and it probably is the worlds most popular condiment (hello French fries) but did you know there are flavored ketchups out there? Probably the 2nd most popular to regular ketchup (or tomato sauce as we like to call it in England) is curry ketchup. Speaking of curry ketchup, I do have a recipe that I serve with my Mini Pork Apple & Sage Sausage Rolls. That I really think you need to check out also. I made this apple ketchup as a topping and a side to Pork, Apple and Sage Meatloaf (see below). When I decided I wanted a tomato sauce to complement the ingredients in the meatloaf, I gave this apple ketchup a try, and liked it. So easy to make, this homemade ketchup is so versatile, you can use it in and on burgers, grilled chicken, really anywhere you would use regular ketchup. Here’s the step-by-step: The recipe starts with softening onions. Grated apples (and their juices) are what gives this ketchup natural sweetness. I used honey crisp because they’re in season and the sweetest right now, but you can use what’s available to you.  The grated apple is cooked with the onions, tomato paste, vinegar and tomato sauce is added, cooked for 15 minutes, blend and you have a delicious ketchup. I would say there are probably countless ketchup variation you can make, so, watch this channel. I may surprise you with more. If you’ve made this apple ketchup, leave a comment (or question) below.
