Instant Pot Air fryers
I have been using Instant Air fryer Vortex 6 in 1 for the last 14 months and Vortex Dual Drawer Clear Cook for the last 3 months. I make these healthy roasted peanuts every now and then. Sometimes just seasoned with sea salt , cajun seasoning or with Indian spice mix. They are a convenient snack to carry on a road trip, enjoy on a game day, or even for Netflix binge-watching. After evenly roasting the peanuts, transfer them to a wide bowl or a plate to cool down for atleast 1-2 minutes.The peanuts tend to crisp as they cool down – so this step is extremely important to remember. Transfer in airtight containers only after its completely cooled. These roasted unshelled peanuts can be uses as a meal prep ingredient for Masala Peanuts, Sabudana Khichdi, Lemon rice or Coconut rice.
Flavor Variations for roasted peanuts
Use the cooking time and method as below in the recipe card to air fry peanuts. Indian spiced Peanuts – 1 cup raw peanut, 1 teaspoon oil, ¾ teaspoon sea salt, ½ teaspoon chili powder and 1 teaspoon chaat masala powder. Peri Peri Peanuts – 1 cup raw peanut, 1 teaspoon peri peri spice, salt and pepper to taste and 1 teaspoon oil Basic everyday Peanuts – 1 cup raw peanut, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ -1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon chilli powder and 1 teaspoon oil Honey roasted Peanuts – Warm honey in a microwave safe bowl. Add salt as needed. Toss the roasted peanuts in the honey mixture and air fry for 3 more minutes at 165C. Inexpensive – So much cheaper and healthier to make at home, that you can ditch store-bought peanuts for snacking. Healthy – You will use only a fraction of oil than you’d normally use. Flavors– Perfect opportunity to flavor the peanuts to your liking. You can add spices or sweeten it – just your choice. Edible Gift – They make fantastic holiday presents – be it Christmas, Diwali, or even the end of the year at school. Dietary needs– Naturally Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-free, and Dairy-free Oil – Any neutral flavor oil will be great for roasting. I like to use Sunflower oil or Olive Oil or Coconut Oil. Seasoning of your choice – Choose from Plain Salted, Salt & black Pepper, Cajun Seasoning, Peri Peri or Indian spiced for savory peanuts. Add the seasoning to the peanuts when they are still hot and then return to the air fryer to cook for a few more minutes. Roast the raw peanuts in the air fryer and then season with flavors of your choice. By doing so, you can season with salt, spice, sweet or even herbs to the large cooked batches of peanuts. Storage
Store the roasted peanuts in an air tight jar for up to one month at room temperature or up to 6 months in the refrigerator. I like to store the peanuts in Airtight container, Cookies jar or mason jars. The Dual drawer gives me the convenience to cook two dishes at the same time.
