Italian Chopped Salad

In this recipe, I’m trying to replicate their delicious salad with the addition of my homemade Balsamic Dressing. I have shared this recipe with friends, and it is always a resounding hit. This is a great recipe to entertain with as a side dish, or the perfect fast dinner. You will notice that we have added a little bit of mayonnaise to this recipe. It is a small amount that you won’t be able to taste, but it will work as an emulsifier, and it will hold the dressing together so the vinegar and the oil do not separate....

Limoncello Pound Cake

I know the reason it is called a pound cake is because they typically have a pound of flour, butter, sugar and eggs. There is a pound (or thereabouts) of the other ingredients, but there is not a pound of eggs in this recipe ( because that would be a lot of eggs). There is also a little less sugar because the limoncello already has sugar in it. Speaking of limoncello, did you know I make my own?...

Meyer Lemon Dressing And Marinade

Did you know that you can make salad dressing into marinades and vice versa? I’ve done this a few times with Miso Sauce Dressing and Marinade and Everyday Herb Sauce. You can substitute Meyer lemons for regular lemons in most sweet and savory recipes. And in addition to being in the thick of citrus season, we are also in green garlic season which is also featured in this sauce and, believe it or not, they pair really well together!...

Pan Seared Scallops With Sauce

Facebook | Pinterest | Instagram I was in the shower this morning when I heard Charlotte bang on the door over my music that was playing. That was somehow the first moment I heard the incredibly loud blaring of our house alarm. Oh no! Why did someone have to break into our house while I’m naked?? And then my second thought was, oh, one of the kids must have gone outside, and I forgot to disarm the house (the usual cause of our alarm going off)....

Recipe For Cowboy Cookies

This is lazy parenting 101, by the way. Wait to buy clothes until someone gives you some of theirs. I guess I should, like, start providing for my children or something? (In my defense, this is often my own strategy for obtaining clothes. Remember the hand-me-down incident where my sister-in-law gave me a shirt that wasn’t even hers?) But this morning I noticed that her extremely worn, hand-me-down pajama pants only reach halfway down her shins, and the long-sleeve arms are about 6 inches short....

Recipe For Italian Wedding Soup

He gave me a “come on” look (you know the c’mon look) and said, “We’ve been married almost 15 years and you still can’t identify an Imperial Star Destroyer??” He asked this in the way I might respond if he forgot one of our children’s middle names. Roast Chicken

I think there are some dishes that just seem intimadating. When I was first learning how to cook there were certain recipes that I didn’t even want to try. Life gets hectic, and sometimes we struggle to get a healthy dinner ready on the table, let alone think of the sides!
