Banh Mi Sandwich

I made these Banh Mi’s several hours ago now and am learning just how much I rub my eyes. Because after slicing those jalapeños my eyes are burning! Gah! Be careful! (I forgot to mention that my pleasant early morning Safeway jaunt ended with me driving halfway home before realizing that I didn’t have my phone. I drove all the way back and found it in the cart right where I left it....

Best Taco Salad

Facebook | Pinterest | Instagram Just kidding. We just went to the local park where they have cracked and terribly neglected courts. We pulled our tennis rackets and balls out of the trunk of our car, where they live permanently, just in case the mood for a quick tennis excursion strikes us unexpectedly, which happens exactly never. (I think when we bought the gear years ago we were too lazy to figure out where to fit them in our rather cramped garage, so they just never made it out of the trunk....

Boozy Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake

So after Elliot died, Nathan and I decided that we really needed to get away together. Walking around our house, there were so many reminders of Elliot . . . I mean, just the house itself. We had just purchased a bigger house, thinking that we would need more room for our two boys to run around and play in. And then . . . . and then we had a beautifully decorated nursery and no Elliot to put down for naps in there....

Cherry Hand Pies

There is something about hand pies that make me feel like a giddy little kid. I have thought about it, and I can’t figure out why! Perhaps it is because I can still remember standing on a stool in my mom’s kitchen snagging scraps of pie crust as she made a homemade cherry pie. She never turned her recipe into hand pies, but I know she would still let me eat the scraps....

Chocolate Cherry Sheet Cake With Fudge Frosting

My cousin Lani was over the other day with her baby girl. I shut them all and headed across the kitchen to continue my search....

Cream Cheese Pasta Sauce Ready In 10 Minutes

I love making Fettuccine Alfredo with homemade sauce, but that sauce takes a bit to make. It takes a bit of time, and a bit of preparation and focus to get a traditional alfredo perfect. That also makes this a gluten-free cream cheese sauce and will be delicious on your favorite gluten-free pasta....
